Recipe Contest

Calling all home cooks and kitchen adventurers! Enter your best lavender or honey recipe for a chance to be featured on our official Festival Recipe Card.

How to Enter

1. Create an original recipe using lavender and/or honey, and submit it online by May 25, 2026. Include your full name, city of residence and email address with your entry.
2. Recipes may be submitted as a Word document, PDF, or JPG file. Don’t have a typed recipe? Simply take a photo of your handwritten recipe with your cell phone and upload it as a JPG.
3. Please ensure your recipe is clearly legible. Illegible submissions will not be considered.
4. A photo of your finished dish is appreciated, but not required.

Contest Rules
Submitted recipes must be your original work. Please do not submit recipes from other sources.
All submissions, including recipes and photos, become the property of the Sierra Nevada Lavender & Honey Festival (SNLHF) to be used at the Festival’s discretion.
Entrant grants the SNLHF the right to use, reproduce, publish, and adapt the recipe, photos and use of your name without further compensation. This may include, but is not limited to print and website promotional materials.

Judging
Entries will be judged on taste, originality, ease of preparation, and availability of ingredients.

Winners
Two winners will be announced on June 1, 2026 — one for a lavender recipe and one for a honey recipe. Each winner will receive:

1. Bragging rights! Your name and recipe featured on an official Festival Recipe Card. 2,500 cards will be printed for public distribution at the festival and other events.
2. A gift bag of items from festival vendors and a copy of NevadaGrown: A Year in Local Food cookbook (valued at $100+). Prize must be redeemed at the festival by the winner or a designated representative.
